There are some who disagree with the decision of playing Shon Carson in the Outback Bowl and would prefer that he apply for a medical hardship. While he’s certain to play, what kind of impact is he going to make? What kind of impression has he made in practice so far?

South Carolina landed top-ranked player in the country Jadeveon Clowney in 2011. In the current 247Sports rankings, defensive end Da’Shawn Hand is the best player in the 2014 class. The Gamecocks have been on Hand’s list but exactly how strong is South Carolina in his recruitment?
